Step 6: Installing IBM SecureWay Communications Server

To install IBM SecureWay Communications Server, do the following:

1. Install the IBM SecureWay Communications Server according to the instructions in the server's documentation.

   Note:

   Install the latest Corrective Service Levels for IBM SecureWay Communications Server.

2. If a version of IBM SecureWay Communications Server has already been installed on the PC, a window appears asking whether you want to update the previous version. Select OK. The IBM SecureWay Communications Server setup window is displayed.
3. Open an OS/2 WARP Version 4 window.
4. Use the OS/2 WARP Version 4 COPY command to copy an existing configuration file from the CPSS2 CallPath directory to one of your own directories in the CMLIB Communications directory.

   The CPSS2 CallPath directory contains these example user configuration files:

   CPSS2TR

   Configuration for host connection by way of IBM token ring network

   CPSS2SD

   Configuration for host connection by way of SDLC link

   CPSS2X2

   Connection for host connection by way of IBM X.25 network

   CPSS2EN

   Configuration for host connection by way of Ethernet

   For each example configuration there are four file types with the following extensions:

     .cfg
     .cf2
     .ndf
     .sec
   

   You can copy the example configuration files from the C:\CPSS2 directory into the C:\CMLIB directory, or create your own. For example, enter the following to copy the token ring configuration files:

   copy c:\cpss2\cpss2tr.* c:\cmlib

   You can then modify the required profiles using your copy of the configuration files as a model.

   If this CallPath Server will connect to SwitchServer/2 or CallPath Server for AIX as a host, use the notes for SwitchServer/2 in the Using CallPath SwitchServer/2 manual.

5. Select Setup... from the IBM SecureWay Communications Server setup window.
6. Insert the IBM SecureWay Communications Server media as prompted.
7. Select the configuration file you copied in step 4.

   A window is displayed asking whether the configuration file will be used on this workstation.

8. Select OK, then select YES.
9. Refer to Using CallPath SwitchServer/2 to complete the configuration for your host.
