Step 8: Configuring the SwitchServer/2 for an Ethernet connection

If you are using an Ethernet card to communicate with the DEFINITY G3, do the following to configure the Ethernet link:

1. Start SwitchServer/2 by entering CPSS2 or RCPSS2.
2. Enter the password when prompted.
3. Type 1 in the Connections field.
4. Type a backslash in the Switch field and press Enter.
5. Type 3 in the Supply Additional Switch Parameters field. The Ethernet Switch Configuration window is displayed.
6. Type the TCP/IP host name that was assigned by the DEFINITY G3 administrator in the Host Name field. This is the name that was added to the HOSTS file as shown in "Installing the Ethernet card software".
7. Type the client link number that was assigned by the DEFINITY G3 administrator, in the appropriate field.
8. Type 1 in the ASAI-Ethernet Tunnel Protocol Version field. (Version 1 is the default and currently the only one provided.)
9. Select OK to accept these values.
