Step 3: Installing CallPath Server for OS/2 and other CallPath components

Installing CallPath Server

Important: If you are upgrading from IBM CallPath Version 2.2, Corepoint Telephony Version 6.2, or IBM CallPath Version 6.3, you can install this version directly over the previous version. However, if you are upgrading from IBM CallPath Version 2.1 or earlier, you must perform the following tasks prior to installation:

  1. Back up all configuration files to a safe location.

First back up the CallPath Server configuration file, csabin.cfg. Its default location is x:\csasrvr\bin, where x: is the drive on which you installed CallPath Server. Next, back up any switch connection configuration files. These files will have a file name extension of .001 - .099. They will be stored in a directory below the base CallPath Server installation directory (for example, x:\csasrvr\switch).

  2. Uninstall CallPath Server and any switch connections.

To uninstall CallPath Server and any switch connections, open the CallPath Server folder and double-click the Installation Utility icon.

After you install CallPath Server and any switch connections, copy the old configuration files into the new product directories. Information about configuration file names and locations is described above.

CallPath Server is located on the CallPath Server CD and the CallPath Enterprise CD. To install CallPath Server for OS/2, do the following:

  1. Insert the CallPath Server CD or the CallPath Enterprise CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  2. Open an OS/2 window.
  3. Change to the root directory of the CD.

However, if you are upgrading from IBM CallPath Version 2.1 or earlier, you must perform the following tasks prior to installation:

  1. Back up any user files that might be stored in the product directory.

The default product directory is x:\csatk, where x: is the drive on which you installed the Developer's Toolkit.

  2. Uninstall the Developer's Toolkit.

To uninstall the Developer's Toolkit, open the CallPath Server Developer's Toolkit folder. Then double-click the Installation Utility icon.

After you install the CallPath Server Toolkit, copy any old user files into the new product directory. In most cases, you can simply copy the files into x:\csatk, where x: represents the path under which you installed the toolkit.
