Programming Interfaces

This book primarily documents general-use programming interfaces and associated guidance information provided by CallCoordinator.

General-use programming interfaces allow you to write programs     that obtain the services of CallCoordinator for specific call center and business requirements. In this guide, these interfaces are either application program interfaces (APIs) or one-way interfaces. See "Programming Interfaces" for definitions of API and one-way interface.   This guide explains what each API and interface is and how to use them.

This guide also documents product-sensitive programming interfaces and associated guidance information.

Product-sensitive programming interfaces allow the customer to perform tasks such as diagnosing, modifying, monitoring, repairing, tailoring, or tuning of this IBM software product.     In this guide, these interfaces are called installation-wide exits.     See "Programming Interfaces" for a definition of installation-wide exit. Product-sensitive programming interfaces create dependencies on the detailed design or implementation of the IBM software product. These interfaces should be used only for these specialized purposes. Because of their dependencies on detailed design and implementation, it is to be expected that programs written to such interfaces might need to be changed in order to run with new product releases or versions, or as a result of service.

Product-sensitive programming interface and associated guidance information is identified where it occurs by the following marking:

+-------------Product-sensitive programming interface information--------------+

Product-sensitive programming interface and associated guidance information...

+----------End of Product-sensitive programming interface information----------+
