Chapter 10. Installation, Configuration and Verification Tasks

A list of the CallCoordinator installation, configuration and verification tasks follows. For more efficient installation, follow this sequence when you perform the tasks:

  1. Install the software:

    1. Load the software, following instructions in the Program Directory.

    2. Define CallCoordinator software to CICS for single-region operation.

    3. Validate software definition for single-region operation.

    4. Depending on your CICS environment, do one of the following:

      • For multiregion operation (MRO):

        1. Define CallCoordinator software to CICS for multiregion operation (MRO), if appropriate for your CICS environment.

        2. Validate software definition for multiregion operation.

      • For sysplex operation:

        1. Define CallCoordinator software to CICS for sysplex operation, if appropriate for your CICS environment.

        2. Validate software definition for sysplex operation.

  2. Configure the CallCoordinator panels:

    1. Understand how to use the CallCoordinator panels.

    2. Set defaults for basic CallCoordinator operation.

    3. Define the panel environment for agents and others.

    4. Configure Intelligent Answering.

    5. Configure Transfer Load Balancing.

Note: Configure the CallCoordinator panels for the test environment. If installation verification is successful, configure the CallCoordinator panels for your production environment. See "About Your Production Environment".

  3. Verify installation:
    1. Understand how to use the installation verification program.
    2. Sign on to CallCoordinator as an agent.
    3. Verify Coordinated Voice and Data Transfer.
    4. Verify Intelligent Answering.
    5. Verify Transfer Load Balancing.

About the Test Environment

The CallCoordinator software includes an Installation Verification Program (IVP). It is recommended that you set up a test environment for using the IVP to verify CallCoordinator installation.

The procedures in this manual for installing and configuring CallCoordinator are the same for a test environment or for a production environment.

This book gives more details on the test environment in the following chapters or sections:

The test environment and the IVP also can be used later during problem determination. Refer to CallPath CallCoordinator/CICS Problem Determination.

About Your Production Environment

After you successfully verify installation and configuration for the test environment, configure your production environment. Use the same procedures you used for the test environment (Chapter 20, "Configuring System Administration", Chapter 21, "Configuring Intelligent Answering", and "Verification Procedures for Transfer Load Balancing").

During configuration replace test environment information with information appropriate to your business:
